Water (Kane County) is on US-89, nineteen miles northwest
of Page, Arizona. It was known as Glen Canyon City during
the construction of nearby Glen Canyon Dam. In 1983, the
town was incorporated as Big Water at the instigation of
Alex Joseph, the town's first mayor. (John
