Utah Travel Center Cities Page, AZ

Page, Arizona is one of the gateway cities to the beautiful Lake Powell and Glen Canyon Recreation Area. There are more than 8,000 residents that call this beautiful city their home. Most are working in tourism-related businesses.

In the early 1950's, construction workers began working on the Glen Canyon Dam project, and seven years later the small community of Page was started. Page was named after the late John C. Page, who served as commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation in the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration from 1937 to 1943.

Today, the Page area hosts millions of visitors each year. The city is a central location for tourists traveling to Lake Powell, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon North and South Rims, Bryce and Zion.
